A family of solid timber coffee tables that use a repeated profile on both table top and leg. This allows for a variety of shapes and sizes utilising the same component.

In the early concept stage we were thinking about how a combination of profiles, positive and negative, could combine on the edge of the table and the leg. We tried radiuses, curves and steps but settled on a chamfer as a way to visually lighten the top.

Translating this to a round leg had the nice effect of ‘sharpening’ the top of it, a bit like a pencil, which is where it gets it’s name.
